On September 11, during the annual cultural festival "Šančinės" in Šančiai district, a lecture and a workshop "Feel the shore" was held, during which information was collected for the map "Present" map of Šančiai Map of the present - Genius Loci ( sanciubendruomene.lt) . The workshop team applied the DOT methodology (design oriented thinking) for mapping of Šančiai active places. The workshop was led by KTU lecturers. The session focused on cities, which are not only open spaces and buildings, but also living communities that share public spaces, change them, adapt them to their needs and give them social meaning. It was analysed why some spaces "work" positively and some negatively, and how to recognize it and what criteria to apply. To date, the DOT method has been used successfully in Sweden as one of the urban planning tools to constructively involve urban communities in the planning process and reflect people’s social needs. The workshop took place in a private space and was open to all.
12 participants, 569 people reached the lecture online via fb. Duration of the session - 4 hours.
